How a case works

Step one

Something is going wrong

The evidence arrives in pieces, and some of it does not belong.

Two things can be true

Only one of them explains everything in front of you.

Step three

No option is clean

They commit to one, and then they have to say why.

Step four

The case answers back

Time moves, and the consequence of that decision is theirs.

The reasoning is scored

Each decision is banded against a rubric we publish, not marked right or wrong.

Questions we are asked

Which grades can take part?

Grades 5 to 12, compared inside bands of two grades, so a younger student is never measured against an older one.

Do we need special devices or software?

No. A case runs in an ordinary browser, on a school computer, a laptop or a phone.

How much work is this for our teachers?

One hour a month in the room, and hosting the exam once. No preparation, no marking, no training.

When does season one start?

Nominations are open now. Sessions begin once your ten are confirmed, and the exam date is agreed with your school.

Is this another subject olympiad?

No. No syllabus, nothing to memorise, no subject paper. It does not want that slot in your calendar.
